Know Before You Go

Planning Your Trip

Planning your visit is essential to make the most of your time in the park:

  • Timed Entry Reservations are required from May 23 through mid-October during peak hours. Reserve your spot here.
  • A valid park pass or entrance fee is required and can be purchased online at Recreation.gov or in person at entrance stations.
  • Credit or debit cards only are accepted at entrance and campground stations.

Weather can shift quickly, even in summer—sunshine can turn to snow in a matter of hours. Check the forecast here, and always pack layers!

Getting Around

Avoid the hassle of parking and enjoy the scenery instead—free shuttle buses operate during peak season. Learn more about the shuttle system here.

Stay Alert, Stay Informed

For current road conditions, trail closures, and alerts, check the park’s official conditions page before heading out.

Riversong Inn Retreat is located by the Pin in the map below.  We are at the end of a private road, which is about .75 mile walk to the main road.  There are two shuttle pick ups at the intersection of Highway 36 and Mary’s Lake Road/High Drive

Riversong Inn & Rocky Mountain National Park

Just 3 miles from Riversong Inn, the iconic entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park awaits. Step into 265,000+ acres of alpine splendor where jagged peaks meet wildflower meadows, and elk and deer graze beneath towering pines.

Whether you’re chasing the golden shimmer of sunrise at Bear Lake or breathing in the thin, fresh air along Trail Ridge Road—the highest continuous paved road in the United States—RMNP promises an unforgettable encounter with nature at its most dramatic.

Adventure Awaits at Every Turn

With over 300 miles of hiking trails, there’s a path for every pace—from peaceful lakeside strolls to challenging summit scrambles. Wildflowers bloom in technicolor during summer, while autumn brings golden aspen groves and bugling elk echoing through the valleys.

This is our second visit (see 2018) review. This time we chose Meadow Bright--such fun, giant whirlpool tub with fire place. Bathroom has door!! Beautiful architecture with one log cabin wall and 4 poster bed (no dust gathering canopy). You are truly separated from others, lovely deck, second room for reading and whirlpool tub and spacious deck. Breakfast is delivered by a masked staff person...

Top Drawer in my Book! Well-deserved five star rating. Exceptional staff in every regard. Highly professional, courteous, and friendly. Complementary snack items, books, games, and snow shoes were very much appreciated. Ideally located near park entrance and a very short drive into town was a plus. Thanks again to the staff for a relaxing stay.

This is one of those rare hotels where you want to ask, "can I just live here?" Such a beautiful property and fantastic staff. This place is a nature lover's dream, right on the river, ten minutes from the entrance to RMNP, incredibly relaxing, and we were treated to views of the elk and baby elk as they wandered on the property. The breakfast was very tasty and filling and they have a to-go option for early hikers. I don't think I can ever stay anywhere else in the Estes area again.

Fantastic! Our second visit, and everything was absolutely on-point, even during these "interesting" times when modifications must be made to the experience. We will be back, and we've already reserved for a mini-honeymoon for some friends... a GREAT gift for the newlyweds that they already greatly appreciate. Thanks Team!

We have stayed here 10-12 times over 20+ years. The best place we have ever stayed. It is totally classy without being pretentious or snooty. So we keep coming back.

An wonderful stay in a beautiful place. Felt so private and quiet. All the little details really added up. Great morning breakfasts and incredibly kind inn-keepers. We will be back!
