One of my favorite boutique hotels I’ve ever stayed at, the building, the grounds, the river, everything was perfect. I’ll have to come back for the tea serving. | Liked: cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities

This resort has cabins next to a river, a massage yurt, the opportunity to have High Tea next to the river, in a large white gazzebo, or in their dining room. They have hot tubs and jacuzzis in some of the cabins.

Riversong was amazing and we hope to come back next summer! ☺The saff and breakfast were fantastic! ☹The hot tubs in the surrounding woods could use some amenities around them to make access more inviting. It would have been great to have a central fire pit that was built for all guests on cool evenings to socialize by.

A nice property, although no one who stays there is freindly. ☺The room was decent, parking was easy, decent breakfast, secluded from all the highway traffic. Daniel was great in getting us settled in ☹The AC unit was noisy, and unclear how to regulate, although we did open the windows at night and turned the AC off

This was a lovely Tea Service, set in our own private gazebo looking out over the mountain side. The food was delicious as was the tea. After we walked down to the stream and it was absolutely beautiful! Next time we plan on staying in a cabin for a few days. Absolutely, dont overlook this gem while visiting Estes.

Chambre très cosy et spacieuse. Le petit déjeuner était excellent. La tv ne fonctionnait pas mais ce n’était pas grave car on y recherchait la tranquillité | Liked: cleanliness, staff & service, amenities, property conditions & facilities

Whether you’re an experienced angler or casting for the first time, fly fishing here is about slowing down, breathing in the mountain air, and connecting with the rhythm of the river.

Private River Access

Guests at Riversong enjoy direct access to the Big Thompson River, known for its thriving populations of:

  • Brown Trout

  • Rainbow Trout

  • Cutthroat Trout

The stretch of water near the inn provides excellent opportunities for both wading and bank fishing, with clear pools, riffles, and pocket water that hold fish throughout the season.

Imagine stepping out after breakfast, coffee in hand, and making your first cast of the day just steps from your room.

The calm river sections near the property provide an ideal setting for learning the basics:

  • How to cast a fly rod

  • Reading the water

  • Understanding insect hatches

  • Catch-and-release techniques

There is nothing quite like landing your first trout with the mountains rising around you.

Best Time for Fly Fishing

Fly fishing around Riversong is excellent from late spring through fall.

Seasonal highlights include:

Spring (April–May)
Snowmelt begins and fish become active after winter.

Summer (June–August)
Peak fishing season with abundant insect hatches and warm mountain days.

Fall (September–October)
Cool weather, fewer anglers, and aggressive feeding before winter.

Whether you want a guided fishing adventure, a peaceful solo morning on the river, or a weekend retreat built around the art of fly fishing, Riversong Inn Retreat is the perfect basecamp.

Come cast a line, breathe the mountain air, and discover why anglers return to this stretch of river year after year.
